Dan Chen

Dan Chen has been named the head women's tennis coach at John Jay College of Criminal Justice effective July 2015, Director of Athletics Carol Kashow has announced.
 
Chen is a graduate of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Brooklyn Law School. He is also a professional actor with over 50 film, television, and theatre credits to his name since joining the Screen Actors Guild in 1999.
 
Chen began coaching high school tennis in 2011 at Convent of the Sacred Heart (CSH) in Manhattan and took over as head coach in 2013. That year, he led the CSH tennis team to a regular season champion title and followed that up by taking the league tournament championship in 2014. In the fall of 2014, he also served as head coach for the inaugural Girls Varsity Tennis season at Avenues: The World School.
 
Furthermore, Chen is a three-term Girls Varsity Tennis Chair for the Athletic Association of Independent Schools (AAIS) and member of the USPTA. His current and former students include a three-time AAIS Singles Champion, a current Division I collegiate player, and several top-ranked Juniors in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Eastern Section.
