Brandon Fieland is in his 13th year at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and currently serves as the Interim Director of Athletics, a position he has held for the last year and a half. Fieland oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, managing all aspects of sport administration.

He is directly responsible for strategizing how the department evaluates, responds, and continues to innovate in the changing landscape of college athletics. Additionally, he is directly responsible for scheduling and internal coordination across all varsity programs.

Since joining John Jay in 2013, Fieland has played an integral role in the department's growth and success. He began his Bloodhound career as the Sports Information Director, before rising through the ranks to become Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations, and, in his most recent position, Deputy Director for Athletics.

Throughout his tenure, he has guided the evolution of the department's brand identity, digital presence, and game-day experience while managing communications, marketing, and community engagement initiatives. Among his day-to-day duties as Deputy Director of Athletics, which include reviewing the department's budget for all 15 varsity sports, he manages the department's largest events, including the Hall of Fame, the annual Student-Athlete Awards Banquet, and Homecoming. Fieland serves as the chair of the John Jay Hall of Fame Selection Committee and is a vital member of the senior leadership team.

Fieland began as the athletic department's Sports Information Director, where he was responsible for all operations related to sports media relations, strategic communication, marketing, branding, and content generation for the college's 15 varsity athletic programs. He created and oversaw the enhancement of John Jay's digital, social, and traditional media platforms (broadcasting, video production, and graphic design) while monitoring and publishing game recaps and features on the Bloodhounds' official website, www.johnjayathletics.com.

Over his tenure in the Athletic Communication realm, he spearheaded three redesigns of the athletics website. Additionally, he created a video production platform on YouTube, which produces over 125 videos and garners more than 100,000 views annually.

In 2016, Fieland received the John Jay College BRAVO! Employee of the Year Recognition Award.

Before arriving at John Jay, Fieland spent more than six years with the New York Mets organization in Venue Services, where he managed game-used memorabilia, oversaw inventory operations, assisted with autograph signings, and worked closely with the team's Fantasy Camp program in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

During his time in Port St. Lucie, he was directly responsible for many aspects of the camp, including serving as the camp's statistician, coordinating field and game schedules, arranging logistics, and assisting professional coaches with workouts and drills. Additionally, he assisted with corporate sponsorships each season by hosting on-field clinics, workouts, and games featuring current and former Mets players. Along with receiving several promotions, he was named the New York Mets Employee of the Year in 2010.

His first tenure in the realm of collegiate athletics came when he assisted the Sports Information/Media Relations department at the City University of New York (CUNY) Athletic Conference. He was directly responsible for the weekly awards process, authored game stories, and managed the conference website (cunyathletics.com), while also assisting with championships and special events.

A native of Long Island, Fieland earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Journalism from Stony Brook University, where he was named to the Dean's List. He previously attended the University of Tampa, where he played baseball for two seasons.

Fieland resides in New York City with his wife and two children and remains committed to advancing the mission, visibility, and student-athlete experience of John Jay College.Â
