Clemente Sosa

Clemente Sosa brings over 25 years of baseball experience to the Bloodhound coaching staff. Born and raised in Harlem, Coach Sosa played his collegiate baseball at Division I member, Iona College, in New Rochelle, NY, and for his native country of the Dominican Republic. He graduated from Iona with a degree in Criminal Justice. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving 21 years as an Investigator with the Naval Criminal Investigative Services before joining the New York Police Department (NYPD) Homicide Detective, where he also dedicated 21 years of service.

Baseball wasn't far from his life, as he was part of New York's Finest Baseball Club. In his time as part of NY Finest Baseball Club, Sosa was part of two United States Police and Fire Championships (2012, 2013) and four NABA NYCMBL Championship-winning teams (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011). In his final year of competition in 2013, Sosa's team was named Best Police/Fire team in the country.

He stayed on the force and then retired, and moved to Texas, where he found Sports Management Worldwide while also serving as the former head baseball coach at Fort Worth Christian School in North Richland Hills, Texas. Learning front office and scouting skills from former Los Angeles Dodgers general manager, Dan Evans, Sosa landed a coaching position with the Texas Rangers Youth Academy.

Coach Sosa takes pride in the development and growth of baseball players on and off the field. Coach Sosa believes that character, integrity, and accountability are very important in a person's development when they enjoy playing America's pastime.
