Jon Perez is in his fourth year as the Digital Multi-Media Manager within the Athletics Media Relations Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
For the last eight years, Perez has been the voice for the Bloodhounds serving as the main play-by-play announcer for all men's and women's basketball and volleyball games on the Bloodhounds' streaming network,
www.johnjayathletics.com/watch. His distinctive voice can also be heard at baseball and softball games as the public address announcer.
In addition, the Queens native created and is the host of
'Inside The Doghouse', a series of videos highlighting student-athlete success on and off the playing field, championship teams, student-athlete profiles, mic'ed up, and community service. He also serves as the Master of Ceremonies at all Hall of Fame Ceremonies and Annual Award Banquets.
Along with working at John Jay, Perez is a play-by-play broadcaster for ESPN 3, News 12 Varsity and St. Francis College. He also works at Major League Baseball as a Voice Over Artist and Content Producer for MLB.com.
Perez graduated from St. John's University in May 2014. While at St. John's, he was involved in multiple student publications and wore many hats. Perez was the Sports Director at WSJU Radio where he hosted a weekly sports show and was the lead broadcaster for the men's basketball team. In addition, he was the lead sports anchor for WRED-TV's bi-weekly segment "Sportswire" and was also the Sports Editor for the award winning student newspaper "The Torch".
