Yvonne Chen

Yvonne Chen embarks on her first year at as John Jay College's Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Chen comes to John Jay College after spending the previous three years at Queens College, a fellow City University of New York (CUNY) institution at the Division II level. 

Chen worked closely with the Knights' 14 intercollegiate programs, providing care and prevention of athletic injuries while implementing treatment. She recently concluded her tenure as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Queens College Summer Camp, a position she has held since the summer of 2018.  

Chen commenced her career in collegiate athletics when she first accepted a head manager position for her alma mater, the University of Massachusetts Amherst women's basketball team, before pivoting to strength and conditioning during her senior year. 

Her clinical experience includes stops at Stony Brook University, where she was responsible for the football team's preventive care, as well as utilizing injury tracking software, including Sportsware and Healthy Roster.

From there, she worked with Molloy University's women's soccer team before joining Adelphi University's women's lacrosse program.

Chen graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a degree in Kinesiology before earning a Master's degree in Athletic Training from Stony Brook. 

She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and has held an EMT-B Certification since 2017.
