Bloodhounds Sink Privateers

New York, N.Y.- The John Jay women's volleyball took care of business rather quickly as the Bloodhounds defeated SUNY Maritime (30-12, 30-28, 30-21) in just 66 minutes at the Doghouse on Thursday evening.

John Jay was led by Jennifer Tiburcio (New York, NY/ Louis D. Brandeis) who had a team-high 10 kills in the win. She also drilled a team-best nine service aces as John Jay improves to 7-16 on the season.

Fellow teammate Sara Altimirano (Bronx, NY/ John F Kennedy) nailed nine kills and had five service aces.

As a team the Bloodhounds recorded 30 service aces in the win, which 12 less than their season best 42 just 48 hours prior in a 3-1 win over the College of Staten Island on Tuesday.

Maria Pacino (Bronx, NY/ Maria Regina) did her part by smacking seven service aces, while tossing up 25 assists in the win.

John Jay returns to action on Sat. Oct. 21 for the CUNYAC/Skyline challenge at St. Joseph's-Patchogue starting at 9 a.m. The Bloodhounds will face the host as well as Skyline representatives Farmingdale State and SUNY Old Westbury.
