Patchogue, N.Y.- The John Jay women's volleyball team fell to 7-19 on the season after dropping a trio of games at the CUNYAC/Skyline Crossover Challenge at St. Joseph's-Patchogue on Saturday.
In the first match of the day the Bloodhounds lost to Farmingdale State in one match (30-17). Sara Altimirano (Bronx, NY/ John F Kennedy) recorded two kills in the match, while Jennifer Gonzalez (Bronx, NY/ Jane Addams Vocational) had two solo blocks.
In the second match of the day the Bloodhounds lost three straight to the host school (30-21, 30-17, 30-23). Altimirano had five kills in the loss along with nine digs. Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY/ Brentwood) contributed with 14 digs and four kills.
Jennifer Tiburcio (New York, NY/ Louis D Brandeis) had five service aces and nine digs for the Bloodhounds.
In the final match of the day John Jay was defeated by SUNY Old Westbury (30-14, 30-20, 30-14).
Altimirano had seven kills for the Bloodhounds, while Medina and Gonzalez had four a piece.
John Jay will return to action for their final CUNYAC match of the season as they take on Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, Tue. Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
