Washington, D.C.-- The John Jay men's basketball team went 0-2 this weekend as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Gallaudet University 77-52 on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Gallaudet holiday tournament.
Dustin Yeates (Brooklyn, NY/ South Side) scored a team-high 12 points, and had six assists, and six steals, while Alex Valerio (Flushing, NY/ Francis Lewis) chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. Homer Henriquez (Ridgewood, NY/ Grover Cleveland) had seven points and six rebounds in the contest.
After leading 32-30 at halftime, the Bloodhound were slow out of the box in the second half.
The host Bisons went on a 20-4 run to open the second half to take a 50-36 lead and take control of the game.
John Jay shot a season low 27 percent from the floor in the contest, including 17 percent in the second half as John Jay loses to Gallaudet for the second consecutive season.
The Bloodhbounds will return to action on Mon. Nov. 27 against New Jersey City Univ. at 7 p.m.
