Florham Park, N.J.- The John Jay women's volleyball team fell to FDU-Florham, Rhode Island College, and St. Elizabeth's College on Saturday afternoon at the FDU Florham quadmatch.
The Bloodhounds lost to Rhode Island College 30-7, 30-18, and 30-20, before falling to the host school 30-9, 30-8, 30-14. In the nightcap the Bloodhounds lost a close one to St. Elizabeth's 30-24, 21-30, 31-29, 30-24.
The Bloodhounds now stand at 2-9 on the season.
Jennifer Gonzalez (Bronx, NY/ Jane Addams Vocational) led the way for John Jay in the first match of the day with four kills, while Jennifer Tiburcio (New York, NY/ Louis D. Brandeis) chipped in with seven digs.
In the second game Sara Altamirano (Bronx, NY/ John F. Kennedy) recorded seven kills, while Tiburcio scooped up eight digs.
Against St. Elizabeth's Altamirano recorded 18 kills and 10 digs, while Gonzalez had 12 kills. Maria Pacino (Bronx, NY/ Maria Regina) chipped in with 21 assists and five service aces.
John Jay will return to action on Tue. Sept. 26 at New York City Tech at 6 p.m.
