Staten Island, N.Y.— The John Jay women’s volleyball team lost in three straight on Wednesday evening as the Bloodhounds were defeated by the College of Staten Island by scores of 30-19, 30-27, and 30-19 in a match played at St. John Villa Academy, as John Jay is now 8-14 (3-5 CUNYAC) this season.
The Bloodhounds got 10 kills apiece from senior outside hitters Sara Altamirano (Bronx, NY / John F Kennedy) and Jennifer Gonzalez (Bronx, NY / Jane Addams Vocational) in the match. Altamirano added 13 digs and two service aces in the match.
Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY / Brentwood) picked up a team-high 14 digs for John Jay, while Anjanette Perez (Hackensack, NJ / Hackensack) registered 14 assists.
John Jay returns to action on Thu. Oct. 18 against William Paterson, 6 p.m. at the Doghouse.
