Women’s Volleyball Falls in Three at WCSU

Danbury, Conn. – The John Jay women’s volleyball team saw its three match winning streak snapped on Thursday as the Bloodhounds were defeated in three by Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) on Thursday. John Jay lost by scores of 30-10, 30-21, and 30-14 as the Bloodhounds are now 3-4 on the season.
 
The Bloodhounds recorded a season low 19 kills in the match, and were led by Sara Altamirano (Bronx, NY / John F. Kennedy) with a team-high six kills to go along with eight digs.
 
Anjanette Perez (Hackensack, NJ / Hackensack) offered 10 assists for John Jay, while Erica Lee (New York, NY / Seward Park) had five.
 
The Bloodhounds picked up 49 digs in the match, and got a team-high 14 from Katherine Higuera-McCoy (Jamaica, NY / St. Francis Prep), and 12 from Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY / Brentwood). Perez chipped in with 11 for John Jay.
 
John Jay returns to action on Sat. Sept. 15 for a conference multi-match hosted by Hunter College. John Jay will face CCNY at 9 a.m. before doing battle with Medgar Evers College at 11 a.m.
