Women's Volleyball Drops Three Straight at NJCU

Jersey City, N.J.— The John Jay women’s volleyball team lost in three straight at New Jersey City University (NJCU) on Thursday as the Bloodhounds fell by scores of 30-17, 30-20, and 30-18. John Jay is now 5-9 (2-2 CUNYAC) on the season.
 
Senior outside hitter Sara Altamirano (Bronx, NY / John F. Kennedy) led the way for John Jay with nine kills, nine digs, and a service ace, while fellow teammate and outside hitter Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY / Brentwood) chipped in with four kills, five digs, and a block assist.
 
The duo setters of Erica Lee (New York, NY / Seward Park) and Anjanette Perez (Hackensack, NJ / Hackensack) combined for 14 assists. Lee had a team-best eight, while Perez had six.
 
John Jay returns to action on Sat. Sept. 29 for a tri-match at Kean University. The Bloodhounds will face the host school along with the College of St, Elizabeth. They will face St. Elizabeth at 2 p.m. and Kean at 4 p.m.
