Women's Volleyball Gets Past College of St. Elizabeth

Union, N.J.— The John Jay women’s volleyball team picked up win number six on the season as the Bloodhounds won their first of two scheduled matches on Saturday. John Jay defeated the College of St. Elizabeth in a five set thriller, winning by scores of 14-30, 30-22, 25-30, 30-28, and 15-13.
 
Sara Altamirano (Bronx, NY / John F. Kennedy) recorded a team-high 20 kills in the win. The senior outside hitter also picked up 11 digs and had four service aces.
 
Jennifer Gonzalez (Bronx, NY / Jane Addams Vocational) had 10 kills, two service aces, a solo block, a block assist, and a team co-high 20 digs along with Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY / Brentwood) who also had nine kills and a block assist.
 
The Bloodhounds recorded a season-high 89 digs, as Katherine Higuera-McCoy (Jamaica, NY / St. Francis Prep) added 15, while Nicole Colon (Baldwin, NY / Baldwin) had 12.
 
Anjanette Perez (Hackensack, NJ / Hackensack) had 33 assists for the Bloodhounds in the win.
