New York, N.Y.— The John Jay College of Criminal Justice Department of Athletics has announced it's 2008 homecoming, which includes the unveiling of the men's basketball 2008 CUNYAC Championship banner, will be held on Tue. Dec. 2 at the Doghouse when the Bloodhounds square off against cross-town rival Hunter College in a basketball doubleheader.
The festivities will kick off a 4:30 p.m. with an indoor tailgate party that will feature free pizza, hotdogs and soda, as well as contests for prizes, a face painting station and poster making station.
The women's game against Hunter will tip-off at 5 p.m. before the defending conference champions take the court at 7 p.m.
Prior to John Jay's 7 p.m. tip-off against the Hunter men, there will be a brief ceremony celebrating the Bloodhounds first ever CUNYAC men's basketball championship, highlighted by the unveiling of the banner. John Jay won the championship on Feb. 22 when it defeated top seeded and two-time defending champion York College, 68-54.
Homecoming night will also feature the John Jay Barnes and Noble Bookstore Shoot-out Launch (the first day of a season long contest for a chance to win a $100 Bookstore gift card) and the John Jay Dance Team during halftime of the women's game, while the Debonair Steppers will perform during halftime of the men's game.
