Women’s Volleyball Loses Three Straight to Hunter

New York, N.Y. --- The John Jay women’s volleyball team was defeated by Hunter College in three straight, losing 25-8, 25-11, 25-10 in a conference match at the Doghouse on Tuesday evening.
 
John Jay is now 3-11 (1-3 CUNYAC) while Hunter improves to 9-1 (4-0 CUNYAC) and remains in first place in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play.
 
The Bloodhounds were led by Tatyana Yachnik and Andrea Medina with three kills apiece. Medina also added five digs in the match while Anjanette Perez had nine digs. Rosemary Martinez added a service ace for John Jay.
 
The visiting Hawks never trailed in any match en route to the win. Hunter College was paced by Olga Petrenko with 11 kills as the Hawks slammed 34 kills in the contest en route to a .382 hitting percentage.
 
Hunter also had nine kills from senior Amanda Kamm, while Melissa Hernandez had a game-high 10 digs.
 
Collectively John Jay had 11 kills on the evening and had two each from Justyna Kopec and Zadoora Carson, while Erica Lee added nine assists.
 
John Jay returns to action on Thu. Sept. 25 at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 5:30 p.m.
