Jamaica, N.Y.— The John Jay College women's volleyball team was defeated in their 2009 conference opener as the Bloodhounds lost 3-0 to the City College of New York (CCNY) in their first of two matches at the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) multimatch on Saturday afternoon.
John Jay (1-3, 0-1 CUNYAC) lost by scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-19 in the contest.
Justyna Kopec led the Bloodhounds with four kills in the contest as the Bloodhounds were held to nine kills in the contest.
Kopec also added two service aces in the match, while fellow teammate
Jia Li Chen added three.
CCNY recorded a .456 attack percentage and were led by Floriana Garo with 14 kills.
