vs. SUNY Purchase
Union, N.J.— The John Jay women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Kean University tri-match on Saturday as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Kean University 3-1 and SUNY Purchase 3-0. John Jay, now 2-6 this season, lost to Kean 13-25, 25-23, 14-25, 14-25, before losing to SUNY Purchase 21-25, 20-25, 16-25.
In the match against Kean, Justyna Kopec (Nowa Deba, Poland, Franklin D. Roosevelt) led the way with seven kills, while Rosmery Martinez (Santo Domingo, DR, James Madison), Andrea Medina (Brentwood, NY, Brentwood), Zadoora Carson (New York, NY, Urban Peace Academy), and Jia Li Chen (Toyshan, China, HS for Duel Language & Asian Studies) had three kills each. Erica Lee (New York, NY, Seward Park) added 15 assists for the Bloodhounds.
Against SUNY Purchase, Jessica Davies (Brawley, CA, Indio)had five kills, while Aleksandra Fenik (Riga, Lativa, James Madison)and Carson added three each..
John Jay is back in action on Tue. Sept. 22 at Hunter College at 6 p.m.
