Women's Volleyball Loses Two Matches at Kean Tri Match

Union, N.J.— The John Jay women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Kean University tri-match on Saturday afternoon as the Bloodhounds lost to Kean 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-10) before falling 3-0 to Farmingdale State (25-15, 25-12, 25-20).

In the match against Kean, Justyna Kopec led the way for the Bloodhounds with seven kills. Renauta Sailsman (Spanishtown, Jamaica, HS For Health Professions) had a pair of service aces in the match. Kathleen Estevez (New York, NY, Bayside)had 10 assists and three digs, while Darlene Bueno (Bronx, NY, St. Raymond's Academy for Girls) had a block and three block assists.

In the match against Farmingdale State, Rosmery Martinez (Santo Domingo, DR, James Madison)had four kills, while Martina Hot (Glendale, NY, Academy of American Studies), Barbara Calderon (Bronx, NY, Hudson County School of Technology) and Kopec had three each.

Kopec added three service aces and four digs, while Hot had six block assists.

John Jay returns to action on Mon. Oct. 4 for a home match against SUNY Purchase at 7 p.m.
