Women's Volleyball Falls to Lehman in Conference Regular Season Finale

Bronx, N.Y.— The John Jay women's volleyball team wrapped up its 2010 conference schedule with a loss as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Lehman College 3-0 at the Apex Arena on Tuesday evening. The Bloodhounds lost by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-17.

With the loss John Jay is now 5-23 overall and 3-6 in City University of New York Athletic Conference regular season play, where the Bloodhounds have earned the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Baruch College in the quarterfinal round of the Emblem Health / CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Championship next Tuesday.

Justyna Kopec (Nowa Deba, Poland, Franklin D. Roosevelt) led the Bloodhounds with six kills and 16 digs, while Martina Hot (Glendale, NY, Academy of American Studies) had five kills.

Crystal Reyes (Bronx, NY, DeWitt-Clinton)had 14 assists and six digs. Darlene Bueno (Bronx, NY, St. Raymond's Academy for Girls)added three kills.

John Jay returns to action on Saturday as the Bloodhounds wrap-up its 2010 regular season with a tri-match at Western Connecticut State. The Bloodhounds take on UMass Dartmouth at 2 p.m. before taking on the hosts at 4 p.m.
