Women’s Volleyball Loses a Pair at Western Connecticut Tri Match

Danbury, Conn.— The John Jay women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Western Connecticut tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Bloodhounds were defeated by scores of 3-0 to the hosts as well as U Mass Dartmouth. John Jay was defeated by Western Connecticut 25-5, 25-12, 25-13 and the Bloodhounds lost to U Mass Dartmouth 25-6, 25-10, 25-15.

In the match against Western Connecticut State, Justyna Kopec (Nowa Deba, Poland, Franklin D. Roosevelt) had seven kills and eight digs, while Kathleen Estevez had four kills and four digs. Martina Hot (Glendale, NY, Academy of American Studies) added three kills.

Against, U Mass Dartmouth, Kopec had seven kills and seven digs, while Darlene Bueno (Bronx, NY, St. Raymond's Academy for Girls)had three kills.

John Jay will now face Baruch College in the quarterfinal round of the Emblem Health / City University of New York Athletic Conference women's volleyball championship on Tuesday.
