New York, N.Y.— The John Jay women's volleyball team's season came to an end on Tuesday evening as the Bloodhounds fell 3-0 to Baruch College in the quarterfinal round of the Emblem Health / City University of New York Athletic Conference women's volleyball championship.
The Bloodhounds were defeated by scores of 25-8, 25-9, 25-11. With the loss, John Jay's season ends at 5-26 overall this season. Baruch, now 24-10, advance into the semifinal round of the championship this Friday and will play the City College of New York.
Against Baruch,
Justyna Kopec (Nowa Deba, Poland, Franklin D. Roosevelt) and
Martina Hot (Glendale, NY, Academy of American Studies)led the Bloodhounds with four kills each, while Kopec added eight digs.
Barbara Calderon (Bronx, NY, Hudson County School of Technology) added two kills and three digs.
Rocio Chavira (Bronx, NY, Fashion Industries) had a team-high nine digs in the match.
