New York, N.Y.— The John Jay women's volleyball team was defeated in three straight to Hunter College on Tuesday evening losing by scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-11 at the Doghouse.
With the losses, John Jay is now 1-8 (1-3 CUNYAC), while Hunter improves to 4-3 (4-0 CUNYAC).
The Bloodhounds were led by
Martina Hot (Glendale, NY, Academy of American Studies) with eight kills and three service aces. Meanwhile
Kathleen Estevez (New York, NY, Bayside) had three kills, a service ace and four digs.
Barbara Calderon (Bronx, NY, Hudson County School of Technology)had a pair of kills, while
Crystal Reyes (Bronx, NY, DeWitt-Clinton)had 12 assists and nine digs.
Hunter College was led by
Mallory Grubler with 16 kills, 11 digs and two service aces.
Katina Boutis had 20 assists and a pair of service aces.
Alisa Jaganjac had six service aces for the Hawks.
John Jay returns to action on Thu. Sept. 23 for a match at the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 7 p.m.
