Box Score New York, N.Y.— The John Jay women's volleyball team opened its 2011 season with a loss as the Bloodhounds were defeated by SUNY Old Westbury 3-1 (25-0, 9-25, 15-25, 17-25) at the Doghouse on Tuesday evening.
John Jay is now 0-1 with the loss, while SUNY Old Westbury improves to 3-2 this season.
The Bloodhounds were led by
Martina Hot with 10 kills, while
Dulce Aybar had two in defeat.
Kathleen Estevez picked up five digs, while
Renauta Sailsman had a kill, two digs and a solo block.
John Jay is back in action on Wednesday evening for a match at Manhattanville College at 7 p.m.
