MORRISTOWN, N.J.— The John Jay women's volleyball team was defeated in three straight sets at the College of St. Elizabeth on Tuesday evening, losing 25-6, 25-20, 25-23.
The loss leaves John Jay at 1-8 overall the season, while the College of St. Elizabeth improves to 11-4.
The Bloodhounds were led by
Martina Hot, Quendresa Efendija and
Sarah Young with four kills each. Hot added three service aces and nine digs in the contest, while Young added a solo block.
Katherine Bonilla had 11 assists and seven digs for the Bloodhounds.
The College of St. Elizabeth was led by Katie Cooper with 12 kills (two errors) on 23 total attacks for a .435 attack percentage. She added a pair of service aces and seven digs for the host Screaming Eagles. Subhana Wright added 10 kills for the College of St. Elizabeth, while Rachel Hausler had a match high 13 digs.
John Jay returns to action on Saturday for a tri-match at Rutgers-Camden starting with a match against the hosts at 10 a.m. followed by a match against Marymount University at 12 p.m.
