Men’s Volleyball Loses to Lehman

New York, N.Y.— The John Jay men's volleyball team was defeated at home on Thursday evening, losing to Lehman College 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, 25-20) at the Doghouse.
 
With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 1-7 (0-5 CUNYAC) this season. Lehman improves to 8-5 (4-2 CUNYAC) on the year.
 
Lehman had 16 of its 20 service aces in the first two sets to set the tempo. The Lightning struck out to an 8-0 lead in the opening set behind five service aces by Miguel Gallardo, who had six for the contest.
 
The Bloodhounds proceeded to score three straight to make the score 8-3, but that was as close as John Jay got. Lehman registered nine service aces in the first set en route to the big win.
 
John Jay took a 4-1 lead in the second set before Lehman scored 15 of the sets next 16 points to take a 16-5 lead.
 
The third set was close most of the way. John Jay led 8-7 before Lehman rallied off five in a row to take the lead for good.
 
John Jay got as close as two points of the lead on two occasions, most recent as 19-17, but could not get over the hump as Lehman held on.
 
The Bloodhounds were led by Frankie Galang with three kills and three assists, while Rashid Allah Morad, Swindon Charles and Korede Griffith had two kills each.
 
Lehman was led by Brian Francisco with seven kills and four digs, while Luis Colon had three kills, seven digs and seven service aces.
