Men's Basketball Opens Up Season With Win at Lycoming Dutch Burch Tip-Off

The men's basketball team defeated Penn-State Brandywine, 80-62, on Friday evening at the Lycoming Dutch Burch Tip-Off in Williamsport, PA. The Bloodhounds start the season and tournament off 1-0 while the Nittany Lions fall to 0-1. 

Junior Korede Griffith and sophomore Kendal Jordan recorded double-doubles for the Bloodhounds. Korede scored a game-high 25 points, shooting 8-13 from the field and 7-8 from the free-throw line. He also added 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Jordan registered 14 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and two steals.

Junior Kris Owens and senior Darryl Dennis recorded 13 points each. Dennis also added a game-high six steals. Junior Darell Robinson picked up 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, five steals and one block.

Frank McCusker led the Nittany Lions with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks. Perley Mack had a team-high 14 points. 

The Bloodhounds shot 29-81 (35.8%) while Penn State Brandywine went 21-62 (33.9%). 

"I was real happy with how the team played in our first game of the season," head coach Otis Fenn said. "We have a few adjustments to make but besides that, the team played real well."

The Bloodhounds will now face Lycoming College in the Tournament's Championship game. The game will be played at 3:30pm in the Lamade Gym.
