NEW YORK, N.Y.— The John Jay men's volleyball team was defeated by Baruch College in a pair of matches at the Doghouse on Tuesday evening. John Jay lost 3-0 in the first contest (25-13, 25-15, 25-10) and 3-0 in the second contest (25-13, 25-9, 25-18).
In the first contest, John Jay was led by
Frankie Galang with eight kills and five digs, while
Korede Griffith,
Oshea Alexander and
Yevgeniy Remennik had two kills each.
Jack Palleschi added five digs, while
Nicholas Anderson had 14 assists and four digs.
Baruch recorded a .486 attack percentage (40 kills, six errors, 70 attacks), including a .682 percentage (15 kills, no errors, 22 attacks) in the third set. The Bearcats were led by Aviv Elias and Brian Monaghan with seven kills.
In the second game of the night, Remennik had five kills, while Palleschi had four kills (no errors) on 10 attacks for a .400 attack percentage. Anderson and Griffith had five digs each, while
Oshea Alexander had two kills and two block assists.
Baruch was led by Chris Kaimis with eight kills (no errors) on 11 attack attempts for a .727 percentage. Meanwhile Scott Standring had three kills, 21 assists and five service aces.
