NEW YORK, N.Y.— The John Jay men's volleyball team closed out its 2013 regular season schedule with a win over Medgar Evers College 3-0 (25-14, 25-6, 25-19) at the Doghouse on Friday evening.
With the win, John Jay improves its record to 8-12 overall as the Bloodhounds go headlong into the 2013 City University of New York Athletic Conference men's volleyball championship. John Jay, the No. 7 seed in the eight team championship, will face No. 2 seed Hunter College in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Hunter Sportsplex.
In Friday's win, John Jay was led by
Frankie Galang with 12 kills (no errors) on 16 attacks for a .750 attack percentage. He also contributed two service aces and four digs. Meanwhile teammate
Nicholas Todaro had three kills and four digs to go along with nine service aces in the win.
Jack Palleschi had eight kills, three service aces and four digs, while
Nicholas Anderson had 24 assists, four digs and three service aces.
Medgar Evers was led by Shemroy Primo with four kills and seven digs.
