The women's basketball team lost to Moravian College, 84-49, on the first day of the 13th Annual Moravian Winter Classic. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-7 (1-3 in CUNYAC) on the season while the Greyhounds improve to 9-2.
John Jay was led by sophomore
Terri Chu and junior
Aneska Tejada, who finished with 12 points each. Senior
Jamecia Forsythe recorded seven points, a game-high 10 rebounds (seven offensive), and game-high six blocks. Junior
Amanda Jimenez registered nine rebounds (six offensive), six points, and two steals. Newcomer
Sherrice Marshall and freshman Tiffany Rodriguez picked up six rebounds each.
Moravian had three players in double-digits. Laura Jordan finished with a game-high 13 points to go along with four blocks and three assists. Ericka Blair recorded 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
"Tonight was a tough game for the team," head coach
Diane Ramirez said. "We need to come out stronger tomorrow and leave on a positive note."
The Bloodhounds will play in a consolation game on Saturday, January 4 at 1:00pm against Wilkes University.
