The men's basketball team defeated RPI, 85-78, on Saturday evening in their first game of the 36th Annual Greyhound Classic. With the win, the Bloodhounds improve to 4-6 overall (2-2 in CUNYAC) while the Engineers fall to 1-7 on the season.
Junior
Kris Owens led the way with a game-high 27 points and eight rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals. Junior
Korede Griffith scored 20 points and registered six rebounds and two steals. Senior
Oshea Alexander had a team-high three blocks and eight rebounds. Junior Darell Robinson added a game-high seven assists.
Engineers' Tyler Gendron finished with a team-high 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
"Our offense looked real good tonight," head coach
Otis Fenn said. "We are finally playing like a team and we will look to bring this play into the championship game."
The Bloodhounds now advance to the championship game on Sunday, January 5 against Moravian College at 3:00pm.
