The John Jay Rifle team defeated Canisius College in air rifle, 2168-1996, and smallbore, 2029-1901 this past weekend in Albany, NY. The Bloodhounds are now 3-1 in air rifle and 1-3 in smallbore in the MAC Conference.
Four Bloodhounds finished in the top five in air rifle. Sophomore
Angelica DeAraujo led the competitiong, firing a 553. Senior
Elisa Dunn finished in second place overall with a 552, followed by sophomores
Ronald Kopec (534, 4th place) and
Suzana Djencic (529, 5th place).
In smallbore, Kopec led the Bloodhounds and finished second overall with a score of 547. Junior
Matthew Pascual finished fifth overall, firing a 506. Rounding out John Jay's top four were DeAraujo (489, 7th place) and Dunn (487, 8th place).
The Bloodhounds travel to Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, November 8, for a match against the University of the Sciences.
