The men's basketball team fell to Brooklyn College, 84-74, on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in the conference. The Bulldogs improve to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC.
Senior
Korede Griffith led the Bloodhounds with a game-high 22 points, three rebounds, and a game-high five steals. Junior
Kendal Jordan recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Senior
Darell Robinson finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high eight assists. Junior
Calvin Ingram had seven rebounds and senior
Anthony Saldarriaga dished out four assists.
Ronald Merriwether came off the bench with five points.
The Bloodhounds shot 37.8% (31-82) from the field and 9-27 (33.3%) from behind the arc. Brooklyn went 31-60 (51.7%) from the floor and 10-24 (41.7%) from three.
At the half, the Bulldogs led 45-35. John Jay outscored the guests in the second half, 39-38.
Five Bulldogs finished with double-digit points. Valon Djombalic led Brooklyn with 19 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
The Bloodhounds host City College (CCNY) for Homecoming on Tuesday, December 9. The game will approximately start at 7:30pm.
