The men's basketball team suffered a tough loss to Lehman College, 52-50, on Friday night in Bronx, NY. The Bloodhounds fall to 9-15 on the season and 7-8 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Lightning improve to 12-12 overall and 6-9 in the conference.Â
John Jay took an early lead after senior

Kris Owens made baskets. The first five minutes featured both teams exchanging buckets. With the Bloodhounds leading by one, senior
Antoine Long nailed a three-pointer to put John Jay up by four.Â
Lehman took its first lead eight minutes into the fist half but the Bloodhounds tied it right away. With 3:41 left in the half, the score was tied at 18 apiece. John Jay ended the half on a 4-0 run, giving them a 24-20 lead heading into halftime.Â
Early on in the second half, the Bloodhounds increased their lead to nine on a jumper by junior
Korede Griffith and a three-pointer by Long. Three minutes into the half, the Lightning cut the deficit to three. John Jay followed on a 4-0 run to lead 35-28.Â
Halfway through the second half, the Bloodhounds increased their lead to nine. However, Lehman responded on a 6-0 run and eventually tied the game at 44 apiece with four minutes remaining. The Lightning then took a four-point lead with two minutes left. Griffith then hit back-to-back three-pointers to give John Jay a two-point lead.Â
With 1:02 on the clock, Lehman tied the game on two free-throws. The Bloodhounds were not able to connect on their possession and with 0:04 remaining, Lehman's Jerrome Jones hit a jump shot to win the game, 52-50.Â
Long led the Bloodhounds with 12 points, shooting 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Griffith recorded 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Owens registered 11 points and three steals. Alexander grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and had a game-high three blocks. Junior
Anthony Saldarriaga dished out a game-high six assists.Â
Lehman's Jerrome Jones led the way with a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Jonathan Greenfield recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.Â
The Bloodhounds will head to Brooklyn College on Tuesday, February 18, for their season finale at 7:15pm.Â
