Men's Basketball Finishes Regular Season Losing to Brooklyn College

Box Score The men's basketball team closed out their 2013-14 season falling to Brooklyn College, 87-52, on Tuesday night in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds finish with an overall record of 9-16 and CUNYAC record of 7-9. The Bulldogs close out their season at 12-13 overall and 8-8 in CUNYAC. 

With both team's fighting for a home playoff game, the Bloodhounds got off to an early 10-5 lead but Brooklyn tied the score a few possessions later at 12 apiece. The Bulldogs then went on a 15-0 run to give them a 27-12 lead. Brooklyn went into halftime leading by 20 and that was all the hosts needed. 

The Bulldogs outscored John Jay 46-31 in the second half to take the conference game by a score of 87-52. 

Junior Kris Owens led the Bloodhounds in scoring with a team-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds. Junior Anthony Saldarriaga dished out a team-high four assists and sophomore Kendal Jordan picked up a team-high two blocks. Junior Korede Griffith scored seven points and swiped one steal. 

Brooklyn's Egzon Gjonbalaj recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds. Jamel Gist and Jai Kellman registered 17 and 13 points, respectively. 

The Bloodhounds end the season tied with Hunter and Lehman for fifth place. Depending on the tiebreaker, the Bloodhounds can either be headed to York, Baruch, or Brooklyn for a CUNYAC Quarterfinals game on Saturday, February 22. More information to follow when the announcement is made by CUNYAC.
