The men's soccer team was defeated, 2-0, to Western Connecticut State on Sunday night at Westside Athletic Complex. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-4, while the Colonials improve to 1-0.

The Bloodhounds earned the first chance at scoring in the second minute of the game, but the shot by Pablo Rojas was deflected by Western Connecticut's goalkeeper, Austin Tierney. The Colonials jumped out in front on a goal from Cole Hyla and were up 1-0 at the half. With a little over 12 minutes remaining in the second half, Andres Jimenez-Franck Western up 2-0 as his 40 yard shot was just out of reach of the Bloodhounds' goalkeeper, Vitecha Kochaon.

John Jay was outshot 12-10, but outshot Western 5-0 in corner kicks. Kochaon picked up three saves for John Jay and suffered the loss.

The Bloodhounds are back at home on Wednesday, September 10th at Randall's Island Field 83 at 4 p.m. where they will face off against William Paterson.
