Kris Owens Records Game-High 27 Points as Men's Basketball Loses to CSI

The men's basketball team fell to the College of Staten Island, 88-78, on Wednesday evening on the campus of CSI. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-17 on the year and 2-9 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Dolphins improve to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in CUNYAC. 

Senior Kris Owens scored a game-high 27 points and had nine rebounds. Owens is averaging 21.3 points per game for the Bloodhounds and is second in the conference in scoring. Senior Korede Griffith recorded nine points, three rebounds, and three steals. Senior Anthony Saldarriaga and sophomore Ronald Merriwether combined for 18 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Senior Darell Robinson dished out three assists and sophomore Geno Ware grabbed seven rebounds. 

John Jay went 28-for-72 (38.9%) from the floor and 7-for-19 (36.8%) from behind the arc. The Dolphins finished 31-for-56 (55.4%) from the field and 6-for-14 (42.9%) from three. 

The Bloodhounds close out their road trip on Friday, January 30, when they travel to Hunter for a 7 p.m. conference game.
