Rifle Opens Up Season With Loss to US Naval Academy

The rifle team opened up the 2015-16 season on the road at the United States Naval Academy. The Bloodhounds fell to USVA in air rifle, 2335-2250, and in smallbore, 2281-2151. Both matches did not count towards the MAC conference. 

Senior Connie Villon led John Jay in air rifle with a team-high 573. Junior Angelica DeAraujo finished in second with a score of 568. Rounding out the top five were senior Ronald Kopec (555), freshman Lily Graham (554), and Suzana Adovic (553). 

In smallbore, Kopec led the Bloodhounds with a team-high 555. DeAraujo and Graham tied for second with a 544. Senior Matthew Pascual (508) and Adovic (435) finished in third and fourth place, respectively. 

The Bloodhounds will open up their MAC season when they travel to Lexington, VA on Saturday, October 10 to take on Virginia Military Institute.
