Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | John Jay Sports Information

Antoni Records 500th Career Save as Women's Soccer Falls to CSI in OT

On a cold and windy day, the women's soccer team lost to the College of Staten Island (CSI), 1-0 in overtime, on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 1-6-2 on the season and 0-1-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Dolphins improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in CUNYAC.

The visitors controlled much of the first half as CSI outshot John Jay 16-2. Senior Andrea Antoni made some remarkable saves to keep the Dolphins scoreless. She ended the first half with 11 saves.

The second half was much like the first as Antoni made save after save. John Jay had a few more scoring opportunities in the half but the Dolphins were able to shut the Bloodhounds down.

After 90 minutes of play, the match was still 0-0. In the overtime period, the Dolphins finally found the back of the net in the 99th minute to win, 1-0.

Antoni finished the game with 21 saves, giving her 504 career saves. Senior Katelyn Davis and sophomore Asia Shkreli recorded two shots on goal each.

The Bloodhounds travel to New Jersey City University on Wednesday, October 7, for a non-conference match at 3:00 pm.
