The rifle team went 1-2 this past weekend in Cambridge, MA. The Bloodhounds defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology in air rifle, 2272-1994. John Jay lost to MIT in air rifle, 2285-2272, and smallbore, 2233-2122. The Bloodhounds are now 3-1 in air rifle and 2-2 in smallbore in the MAC.
In the air rifle discipline, freshman
Lily Graham led the Bloodhounds with a 573. Junior
Angelica DeAraujo placed second firing a 568. Rounding out the top five were senior
Connie Villon (566), junior
Ronald Kopec (565), and junior
Suzana Adovic (549).
Once again, Graham led the squad in smallbore with a score of 545. Kopec recorded a score of 541, good for second on the team. Senior
Matthew Pascual finished in third (531), followed by DeAraujo (505) and Adovic (504).
The Bloodhounds will travel to Akron, OH on Saturday, November 7. John Jay will face off against West Virginia University, University of Alaska, and the University of Kentucky (NCAA only).
