The men's basketball team closed out 2015 with a loss to the College of New Jersey, 84-53, on Wednesday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 2-9 on the season. The Lions improve to 6-4 overall.
Freshman
Jordan Aiken led John Jay with a team-high 16 points, going 6-for-9 from the floor and 3-for-4 from behind the arc, a team-high three assists, and two rebounds. Junior
Geno Ware finished with nine points and two assists off the bench. Junior
Kiernan Hayes grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to go along with five points and one block. Freshman
Essien Epps recorded five points, five rebounds, two assists, and a team-high two steals.
At the half, the visitors led 39-25. The Lions outscored the Bloodhounds 45-28 in the second half.
John Jay finished 18-for-55 (32.7%) from the floor, 8-for-28 (28.6%) from behind the arc, and 9-for-17 (52.9%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Hunter College on Saturday, January 2, for a conference game at 2:00 pm.
