Box Score 2 The baseball team lost two games to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Saturday in Queens, NY. John Jay lost game one, 10-1, and game two, 3-2. The Bloodhounds are now 0-14 on the season. The Bears improve to 9-10.
In game one, St. Joseph's scored two in the first inning and three in the second. John Jay scored its lone run in the top of the fifth. Freshman
Brian Garcia singled with one out and junior
Esteban Soler advanced Garcia to third on a single to right field. Freshman
Robert Moncino then drove in Garcia on a RBI groundout, his first collegiate run batted in.
The Bears responded with five in the bottom half of the inning to go on to win by a final of 10-1.

R.J. Davila recorded hits for John Jay. Sophomore
Michael Wang got the start for the Bloodhounds and pitched five innings. Junior
Nick Gioia threw a scoreless sixth inning.
In game two, the Bloodhounds gave the ball to Gioia. Making his first collegiate start on the hill, the Richmond Hill native pitched a complete game, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits, and struck out two.

Brian Cabral led off with a double to left center and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Garcia. With the infield in, sophomore
Dylan Laudano singled through the left side. The next batter sophomore
Jason Gonzalez then recorded an RBI double to right field to give John Jay a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the six, the hosts scored three runs to take a 3-2 lead. In the final frame, Garcia singled and stole second but was unable to score as the Bloodhounds lost 3-2.
Laudano and Gonzalez finished 1-for-3 with an RBI each. Garcia and Cabral picked up John Jay's other two hits.
The Bloodhounds will look for revenge when they host the Bears on Wednesday, April 8, for a doubleheader at 11 a.m. at Randall's Island.
