Men's Soccer Shutout by Western Connecticut State

A second half goal by Western Connecticut State was enough as the men's soccer team lost, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-5 on the season. The Colonials improve to 3-0.

The first half was quiet as Western Connecticut and John Jay registered seven and two shots, respectively. Sophomore Daniel Hoyte made three saves and John Jay did not record a shot on goal.

In the 73rd minute, the Colonials got on the scoreboard and eventually held on for the 1-0 victory.

Hoyte finished with six saves. Abdul Malik Muftau finished with five shots and three shots on goal.

The Bloodhounds travel to Wesleyan University on Tuesday, September 15, for a non-conference match at 7:30 pm.
