The men's soccer team lost to Baruch College, 5-1, on Saturday morning at the Metropolitan Oval. The Bloodhounds drop to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in CUNYAC.
Nine minutes into the match, Baruch took an early 1-0 lead. Two minutes later, senior
Graysen Carlson scored his 12th goal of the season to tie the game. In the 26th minute, the Bearcats regained the lead, 2-1. Baruch outshot John Jay 10-3 in the half. Sophomore
Daniel Hoyte made two saves.
The Bearcats increased their lead to two goals one minute into the second half. Baruch added two more goals to win, 5-1.
Hoyte finished the game recording five saves. Senior
Pablo Rojas led the team with three shots. Senior
Drew Guerra picked up an assist.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island on Wednesday, September 30, for a conference match at 4:00 pm.
