The women's soccer team was defeated by Morrisville State College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-2 on the year. The Mustangs won their first game of the season.
The lone goal of the game came in the 75th minute on a shot from outside the box. The Bloodhounds had key scoring chances towards the end of the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.

May Dempsey led John Jay with four shots on goal. Sophomore
Kayla Talbot picked up two shots on goal and freshman
Cayleen Young registered three shots.

Kelli Doherty played in relief and recorded a career-high 13 saves. The Hopewell Junction, NY native kept the Bloodhounds in the game and made some key saves, including a breakaway and rebound in the first half.
The Bloodhounds continue their homestand on Monday, September 7, when they host Rivier University at 11:00 am at Randall's Field 83.
