The men's basketball team fell to Brooklyn College, 78-66, on Friday night at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-16 on the year and 2-8 in CUNYAC. The Bulldogs improve to 15-3 and 8-2 in the conference.

Geno Ware came off the bench and led John Jay in scoring with 17 points, shooting 7-for-11. Junior

Essien Epps added eight points, six rebounds, and two assists. Junior
Jesse Higgins picked up eight points, dished out a team-high five assists, and swiped a game-high three steals.
Brooklyn opened the game on a 14-4 run but John Jay responded with four straight points to cut the deficit to six. The Bulldogs followed on a 9-0 run to increase its lead to 23-8 with 10:59 left in the first half. Three minutes later, the visitors led by 19. The Bloodhounds trailed by 14 with over a minute left but went into halftime down, 47-29.
The first six minutes of the second half went back and forth as the Bulldogs held a 56-39 advantage. With 11:43 on the clock, John Jay closed the gap to cut the lead to 15. With Brooklyn leading 76-50, the Bloodhounds went on a 16-0 run to trail by 10 with 1:44 remaining. The Bulldogs scored the final basket of the game to go on for the victory by a final score of 78-66.
John Jay went 22-for-64 (34.4%) from the floor, 9-for-27 (33.3%) from behind the arc, and 13-for-20 (65%) from the charity stripe.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Staten Island on Wednesday, January 27, for a conference game at 7:30 pm.
