The rifle team won the NRA Sectional on Saturday in Philadelphia, PA. The team faced SUNY Maritime, University of the Sciences Mixed and Women, and Loyola, and recorded a score of 2280 in air rifle and 2135 in smallbore. The Bloodhounds are now 7-1 in the MAC in air rifle and 7-3 in smallbore.
In air, juniors
Angelica DeAraujo and
Ronald Kopec tied for first with a 573. Junior
Suzana Adovic and freshman
Lily Graham finished tied for third place with a score of 567. Rounding out the top five was senior
Connie Villon with a 565.
In smallbore, Graham led John Jay with a meet-high 554 points. Senior
Matthew Pascual placed second recording a 530. Kopec (528) and DeAraujo (523) finished third and fourth place, respectively.
The Bloodhounds travel back to Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, February 6 for a match against the University of the Sciences.
