The women's basketball team fell to Baruch College, 61-39, on Tuesday evening at Baruch's ARC Arena. The Bloodhounds drop to 3-9 on the season and 1-5 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in CUNYAC.

Josephine Diaz recorded 12 points, three rebounds, and a team-high two steals. Senior
Terri Chu picked up 11 points. Sophomore
Victoria Royal grabbed a game-high and season-high 23 rebounds (11 offensive), and added six points, two assists, and one steal. Junior
Shaliyah Ruiz registered a team-high six assists, four rebounds, and one steal. Junior
Cassandra Taylor added seven rebounds.
Baruch grabbed an early 4-0 lead but the Bloodhounds went on a 5-2 run to trail by one with 7:57 left in the first quarter. The Bearcats scored the next six points to go ahead 11-5. With John Jay trailing 17-14, Baruch ended the quarter on a 10-0 run.
The second quarter was relatively quiet as both teams combined for 15 points. With 5:11 on the clock, the Bearcats increased their lead to 15. John Jay cut the deficit to 13 but Baruch went into the half with a 35-21 advantage.
Three minutes into the third, the Bloodhounds cut the lead down to nine. Baruch ended the half on a 5-0 run to lead 50-33. The Bearcats outscored the Bloodhounds in the final period, 11-6.
John Jay finished 13-for-62 (21%) from the field, 7-for-33 (21.2%) from behind the arc, and 6-for-12 (50%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds host Medgar Evers College on Wednesday, January 13, for a conference game at 6:00 pm at the Doghouse.
