The women's volleyball team split a CUNYAC multi-match on Monday afternoon at Baruch College. The Bloodhounds fell to Baruch, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-18), and then defeated Lehman College in a five-set thriller, 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-11, 18-16). John Jay is now 8-9 overall and 5-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
Against the Bearcats of Baruch, junior
Rachel Eng recorded a game-high 10 kills and nine digs. Senior
Katrina Zapanta dished out a team-high 20 assists to go along with seven digs and a team-high two service aces. Sophomore
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke registered six kills and freshman
Jhoanna Castro picked up a team-high 13 digs. Senior
Jeanette Luna added four kills, six digs, and one ace.Â
In the Bloodhounds' second match of the day against the Lightning from Lehman, Eng notched her sixth double-double of the season with a team-high 11 kills, a team-high 12 digs, and two service aces. Lloyd-Clarke finished with 10 kills and junior
Savannah Davis had nine digs. Zapanta picked up a game-high 27 assists, seven digs, two kills, and two aces. Luna recorded six digs and four aces. Senior

John Jay totaled 55 kills, 52 assists, 20 service aces, and 100 digs.Â
The Bloodhounds host Farmingdale State College on Friday, October 14, for a non-conference match at 6:00 pm at the Doghouse.Â
