Men's Soccer Powers By Baruch 2-0

The men's soccer team shut out Baruch College, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-9-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats drop to 3-6-1 and 1-4-1 in CUNYAC.

Two minutes into the match, senior Gerardo Flores-Ramirez found the back of the net to give John Jay an 1-0 lead. Junior Steven Sanchez and sophomore Oliver Cisneros were credited with the assist. Cisneros was not done on the score sheet as the Huntington, NY native scored his first goal of the season to give the Bloodhounds a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Bearcats intensified the pressure in the second half but John Jay's defenders consistently cleared the ball. Junior Alexandros Taliotis picked up his third shutout of the season after making nine saves. Junior Curtis Harbers led John Jay with six shots.

The Bloodhounds host Lehman College on Saturday, October 8, at 12:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 73.
