The women's basketball team fell in the consolation game to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 65-58, in the Ramapo College Tip Off on Saturday afternoon in Mahwah, NJ. The Bloodhounds fall to 0-3 on the year. The Bears improve to 1-2 overall.

Cassandra Taylor led John Jay with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds, and one steal. Sophomore
Karen Rosario recorded 13 points, shooting 6-for-12, and eight rebounds. Junior
Dana Nicholson finished with a game-high nine rebounds. Senior
Shaliyah Ruiz added nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Senior

Uju Nwaigwe combined for 10 points and nine boards.
The Bloodhounds led early on but the Bears continued to tie up the score. John Jay's largest lead of the first quarter came with 4:35 left and John Jay up 11-7. St. Joseph's ended the first period on an 8-2 run to take a 21-15 advantage. Jumpers by Ruiz and Taylor to open the second cut the deficit to two. The Bloodhounds took a 25-24 lead on a jump shot by Rosario. John Jay went into halftime trailing 35-32.
The Bloodhounds scored on their first possession in the third but the Bears responded by scoring seven straight points to lead 42-34. John Jay cut into the lead and went into the fourth down 47-42. Trailing by six, the Bloodhounds and St. Joseph's exchanged 5-0 runs. John Jay got as close as three points but would fall by a final score of 65-58.
For her efforts, Taylor was named to the All-tournament team after registering 35 points and 14 rebounds in two games.
John Jay finished 21-for-57 (36.8%) from the floor, 1-for-12 (8.3%) from behind the arc, and 15-30 (50.0%) from the free throw line.
The Bloodhounds host Rutgers-Camden in their home opener on Saturday, November 26 at 12:00 pm at the Doghouse.
